Lord Jesus, our experience of mission has made it graphically and personally clear that we, as Americans, live on an island of prosperity in the middle of a sea of world poverty.
Teach us, as a church and as individuals, what it means that you have called us to live in such a place and in times such as these.
Teach us the value of a cup of cold water to one who knows thirst.
Teach us how to stand at your right hand, serving you, by seeking to help others.
PCPC has a long history of member’s ministry and mission serving others. We find strength for our service in the biblical basis for acting in three places in scripture.
The Great Commandment “Love your neighbor as yourself” Luke 10:27.
The Great Commission “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.” Mathew 28:18
From Acts 1:8 ...and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
For us, Jerusalem is our home church, PCPC.
Judea is places near us and like us.
Samaria is places near us and not like us.
The Ends of the earth are places like Mombin Crochu, Haiti and Papoli, Uganda.
The Witness and Service committee of the session is charged with helping the congregation connect with serving and giving opportunities. Browse these pages to find where we give our Time, Talent, and Money in our attempt to fulfill scripture.
